  • Ketamine has been shown to increase neuroplasticity — the brain's ability to change and adapt — through a series of rapid and profound effects on key neural pathways.¹ This process helps rewire circuits that are often involved in conditions like depression, anxiety, PTSD, and chronic pain.²

What is Pain Reprocessing Therapy?

Advances in neuroscience research show that most chronic pain results from the brain misinterpreting neutral sensations in the body as if they were dangerous. The brain even has the ability to generate pain and other chronic symptoms in the absence of actual injury or illness.

Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) is a system of psychological techniques that retrains the brain to accurately interpret and respond to signals from the body, breaking the cycle of chronic pain. Although various treatments aim to manage pain, PRT stands apart as an evidence-based treatment to eliminate pain.³

A randomized controlled trial testing the effectiveness of PRT for individuals with chronic low back pain showed 98% patient improvement and 66% becoming pain-free or nearly pain-free at the end of treatment. These outcomes were largely maintained one year later.³

PRT can be effective for many chronic conditions, including fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, migraine, anxiety, dizziness, abdominal pain, pelvic pain, overactive bladder, and more. You may benefit from PRT even if you have a structural diagnosis. If you’d like to know if you’re a good candidate for PRT, you can email Erin at erin@alchemyphysio.com.
